XGridChat

XGridChat (short for "cross-grid chat") is a text-only program which allows you to forward group chat from one grid to another.

Features

XGridChat manages robots on each grid, so you don't need to have access to the servers. It can act as a daemon that runs in the background. It can be run on different machines (up to one computer per robot) to balance the load.

Installation

XGridChat is based on LLChatLib. It lives in SLiteChat's tree of source code, so you get it when you compile or download SLiteChat. It is available for Linux and Mac OS/X, but presently does not run under Windows.

The detailed installation instructions are in the README file. Currently, XGridChat is quite difficult to set up; however, a GUI setup program is currently under active development. There is a preview release bundled with SLiteChat presently (GNU/Linux only).

Getting support

XGridChat was written by Catherine Pfeffer. You can reach her in Second Life Life for help.
