Drupal: Have you heard of it? Do you use it?

My business partner, Alexis and I are in the process of converting our company's website to Drupal. We have found that Drupal offers amazing customization ability. Our original site was based purely in PHP and we found very difficult to add new content and update news entries, for example. The new site, which will be launched soon, has been completely converted to Drupal.

The biggest plus for us was the ease of modifying and adding new content. Drupal offers a pretty easy way of creating not only new content, but new content types.  For example, not only do we have pages we can create instantly, but blog entries, newsletters (complete with an email subscription feature which allows interested people to sign up). With Drupal, you can also create a poll, a forum, and anything else you can think of. Then creating entries is fairly simple. Go to the Create Content menu and select the content you wish to create:  Create Content Menu

To modify or delete existing content, go to the Administrate menu, Content Management, then the type of content you wish to edit: Create content menu screen

What I think is powerful is the ability to edit a page on the fly instead of having to drill down through a separate administration interface. Drupal also offers you the ability to track hits on your page (or blog or whatever) using the "Track" feature Create Content menu

As a plus, since we run Drupal ourselves, we also created our own custom modules that extend and enhance the functionality!

These are just a few things that Drupal does and I figured I'd cover the highlights in this quick note.

So...I wanted to ask you what you think about Drupal. First...have you ever heard of it until now? Second, if you have heard of it, do you use it? If so, what do you like? If not, why not? And...do you like what I just illustrated here?

drupal images missing

On your home screen, none of the images have shown up. I'm in IE8 on win7 netbook.

Thanks for the feedback

Thank you for your feedback. Does this happen on every page or just the home page?

Found the problem!

Okay! I found the problem. It was in this very page and it is now fixed. The images will appear in a pop up as intended.
